This 16th century Breton farmhouse has been sympathetically renovated retaining it's original character by exposing the beams, stone walls and huge fireplaces.
The interior is spacious, pretty and light and is comfortably furnished with many antiques. There is a large formal sitting room with beamed ceiling, large open fire, three sofas and antique furniture, glass partition doors leading to galleried dining room; a second sitting room (suitable as a family room/ children’s room) with two sofas, refectory table and chairs, and large open fire. TV/DVD/Video are provided with a selection of tapes for the family to enjoy.
The recently renovated "Christopher Peters" handmade wooden fitted kitchen has antique dressers, larder fridge, microwave, cooker and hob; the utility room has washing machine, dryer and family refridgerater.
All four rooms downstairs have doors leading outside. There are steep narrow stairs to 1st floor and 5 carpeted bedrooms.
The house sleeps 10 - two double-bedded rooms, one with king-size bed and three twin rooms, and two bathrooms.
The farmhouse is covered in wisteria, honeysuckle, roses and clematis and to the back there is an orchard, two cider barns and lightly wooded grounds of 4 acres. There is a graveled area to the front of the house as well as a lawned garden area leading to the pool 8 x 4 x 1.2m depth.
This beautiful house will suit families at one with nature and those that enjoy beautiful secluded country surroundings.
The village of Bubry is an easy walk; coast 30 - 45 minutes drive; canoeing and fishing along the Blavet River approximately 10 kms drive away; restored "working" Breton village of Poul Fetan close by; interesting day excursions to the historic market towns of Pontivy, Josselin, Vannes, Auray.
Bed linen and towels are included in the rent.
