There are three holiday units attached to the main house: Bishops Well Cottage, Chained Heart Cottageand The Coach House.
Chained Heart Cottage is a converted milking parlour and takes its name from an evocative and enigmatic stone carving on the facade of the main house. We hope the symbolism is appropriate and that guests will find it hard to depart.
The accommodation sleeps 8+ in four bedrooms. It consists, on the ground floor, of a spacious lounge/kitchen area featuring an attractive stone fireplace and master bedroom with en-suite bathroom (bath/shower) and washing machine. The kitchen is fully equipped with extensive work surfaces; a dishwasher, fridge/freezer and microwave are provided. Upstairs there are 2 spacious twin bedrooms and a third airy bedroom with 3 "lits coins", traditional carved breton beds, and a sofa bed. There is a shared upstairs bathroom with shower cubicle. TV/Video are included.
Although attached to the main house, the cottages have their own completely separate and private entrances.
A private barbeque and garden furniture; grassed badminton/volley ball cour;, mini gym and games room; swings and a variety of lawn games are provided.
Bed linen is provided and towels can be hired.
A welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, sugar bread and wine is provided for your arrival and we are happy to shop for extra items you might want immediately.
Essentials such as cleaning materials, condiments and tea towels will be there too.
Bodion lies in 6 acres of private, peaceful grounds, mainly wooded lawns and orchard. Rougher pasture and untamed wilderness mark the outer limits with high oaks and sweet chestnuts along the boundary.
With the exception of a small dog enclosure, guests are invited to enjoy any part of the garden at their leisure, there being ample space to accommodate all tastes from peaceful reading and shady picnic spots to boisterous ball games.
However, the areas to the rear of the cottages, with private access, and to the side of the Coach House, are exclusively reserved for their use.
The pool lies to the rear of the cottages and is surrounded by oak, cherry and sweet chestnut trees and extensive areas of open, sunny lawn.
For local amenities Bodion is approximately 15 mins from the historic town of Pontivy where you will find supermarkets, restaurants and shops. Plumeliau, a 5 minute drive, is our local village; a friendly place to buy bread and croissants and fresh oysters every Sunday morning. St Nicholas des Eaux (15 mins), a charming village on the Blavet River, offers two restaurants, creperies and bars as well as river cruises and kayaking
Although many of our guests have spent much of their holiday relaxing in the garden, Bodion is a perfect base from which to enjoy the many attractions which Morbihan offers; the peace and charm of the Blavet Valley with its sleepy villages and historic buildings, the south coast (45mins) with its beaches and water sports, the idyllic islets in the inland sea of the Golfe du Morbihan, walks in the ancient woods of Lac du Guerledan.
The proprietors, Al and Marion Wilkinson, are resident on the property and at hand to ensure a smooth and trouble free holiday.
With advanced notice Marion is happy to provide delicious home-cooked evening meals, including one to welcome you if required. Together with their two daughters, Emma and Zoë, and friendly wolfhounds they extend a very warm welcome to you.
