New for Summer 2006, Hot tub with 85 sqm of Riverside Sundeck with Barbecue.

The best of both worlds! The tranquility of a walled orchard garden with river frontage and views over grazing land yet in the heart of the pretty medieval town of Malestroit.

The town centre (market on Thursdays) and the Nantes-Brest canal are only a two-minute walk away as are your pick of bakeries, creperies and other amenities.

Malestroit is a Brittany Petite Cites de Caractere and is only 20 minutes from Vannes, 30 minutes from the nearest beaches and only 1.5 hours from St Malo.

It is ideal as a base to explore the region or as a leisure break. The canal offers flat cycling to the medieval town of Josselin with its impressive fortress and as the property has fishing rights from its banks, fishing in the River Oust is also an option (carp, bream, perch and pike) or you could bring a canoe.

An area of resistance during the war, a visit to le musee de la resistance in Saint Marcel is well worth a visit.

The house is an attractive stone-detached property which is comfortably furnished. Enter into the L-shaped dinning room (with log fire) and lounge (mini hifi and CD player) a few games are available to make you feel at home.

The kitchen is equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, stove and fridge/freezer. The first king-sized bedroom and shower room are located on the ground floor.

The first floor sees a further two king-sized bedrooms, two single rooms (one of which is suitable for a child only) and bathroom. Decoration is French – so don’t expect perfection but plenty of original patina.

The attic has a large beamed area with a small television (DVD and video) along with two single bedrooms.

The garden has an abundance of apple and pear trees, a table and chairs and a barbeque. A fantastic hornbeam provides easy climbing and support for two children’s swings. The riverbank is fenced but care should still be taken with small children.
