What holidaymakers have said about our cottages...

These are genuine comments that we have received, unsolicited, taken either from the guest books that we place in the cottages, or from letters and emails that happy visitors have sent to us after their holidays.

"First class accommodation that we will not hesitate to recommend to friends and family. Marion and Al made us all feel very welcome and added to the holiday, as did the wolfhounds and puppies!! Home cooking – the best – a definite to try if you have the opportunity. Thanks for a great holiday!"

"Best place we have ever stayed in because the house is big, it’s a lovely accommodation and it’s brilliant for the whole family. The pool is clean and refreshing to be in, in hot weather. The dogs are well trained and very friendly. We will defiantly be back".

"Moved into “Chained Heart” from the “Coach House” – both extremely comfortable gites. This one has the benefit of the fire – lovely on chilly evenings! Everything you need is provided. Marion and girls are lovely hosts. We will miss the dogs – all of them! Can’t complain about the weather it has been very good for this time of year – bright, clear crisp mornings with sunshine during the day. The Manoir and gites are beautifully renovated and a real pleasure to stay at. This is our last stop unfortunately before returning to the UK but a great place to have ended on! Thank you".

"When we arrived at “le Manoir”
The dogs came to say “bonsoir”
They may look really big and tough
But you’ll soon see they’re not that rough.

When we unpacked we went straight to the pool
It’s a good idea because it’s nice and cool!
The rooms are lovely, some beds are small,
But throughout the cottage, we loved it all.

The garden is massive, good for all games
You can always have fun here, even when it rains!
Played games of rounders and also football,
Kids against parents, scored 5 all!

Paul went out on his bike everyday
And scared old ladies on his way!
We went in the pool whatever the weather
But auntie Trish could have tried a bit better!

Ate lots of baguettes, drunk lots of wine
And sometimes we went out to dine.
Uncle Mike liked his crème brulée,
It didn’t take much to make his day!

Auntie Sue’s French was very good,
But the rest of us were not understood!
The house is lovely, “c’est fantastique”!
If only we could stay just one more week!"

28 July to 11 August

"What a wonderful house! We’ve had a lovely time meeting up with all our family in all three cottages. Wonderful scenery and food and wine!! Why do we live where we do when there are places like this?
Thank you for your hospitality. Now all we have to do is return again with our friends!"

1 July, Holland.

"The coach house is wonderful and is a pleasure to stay in, the rooms are spacious and are very cosy they are well decorated as well.
The pool is lovely and sometimes is cold but mostly warm, all the children love he dogs especially Bracken, but the other two are lovely as well.
We would like to thank Marion for making the cakes and her home cooking is wonderful.
All of us 21 people are sure to be back soon!"

"A wonderful holiday in lovely surroundings. Al and Marion reception and hospitality were just as warm as the weather.
Great time had by all of us".

18 August

"We have had the most fantastic time with Al, Marion, Zoë, Emma and the dogs (plus puppies). We’ve never had a pool on holiday before. What genial hosts!
The Coach house is the most enjoyable place to stay; the children have been in their element. We shall return for more of the orange stuff!!"

"A gigantic family get-together – 7 adults, 4 teenagers 3 children, 1 toddler- from 2 continents shared Chained Heart and Coach House…Great contests and happy sea battles were waged on lilos in the pool, games of football and boules were won and excursions to Carnac and Kerveillen beach were much enjoyed. We enjoyed the markets at Vannes and exploring the old port at Auray. Check out the castle at Josselin and young lads will probably enjoy the Resistance Museum at Malestroit".

"We spent a most wonderful vacation in the “Chained Heart” cottage and thank Mr and Mrs Wilkinson for their kind hospitality.
We felt at home and are sorry to have to leave. As a matter of fact we understand the feeling as expressed by the old French saying: “partir c’est mourir un peu”.
